William Peace and Seaboard Station

I went to Boatman for the first time last week. Thought it was fine, but prices weren’t too bad either. Would go back, but not too high on the repeat list.

However, I loved that walk way between the buildings. Would love to see that become an open container area and Boatman open a window they could serve beer/cocktails out of. Lots of outdoor tables that will be great once it cools down a bit.

Seaboard station has the garage of a former trucking company? Which building is that?

It’s this space:

Next to the new soon to be built common market location:

Love to see this! We need more projects that take existing spaces that no longer have a viable commercial use and turn them into ones that would. Of course this is easier said than done, but I’d love to see this spread around the city instead of all net new buildings.

That’s fantastic all around!

WRAL article today that Seaboard Station will soon be getting its own social district. To include Biscuit Belly, Boatman Spirit Co., High Rail, Hyatt House Raleigh, Omakase by Kai, Palm Berries and Peace China. The alleyway in front of Boatman is perfect for this. Would like to see Boatman add a drink window or something along those lines.

Has it been decided exactly what is being built here, and is there any hope of it every starting?

What is going in here?

Oh nevermind solved it. View of the work inside:

The last I saw it was like 5 or 6 phases of construction-slash-renovation for the remaining parts of Seaboard. That was a while back, it has probably changed since. I’ll see if I can find out whats up on Monday.

Construction on the Common Market has begun. I also saw the city designated Seaboard a social district so you can walk around with drinks now.

I think it actually takes effect mid November, btw. But yes! Good for this area feeling like a “place.”

I don’t have a subscription - do you mind summarizing? Are they just renovating the existing building as is or are they going to add additional stories on top to match the other recently built buildings?

I think the main thing is subdividing the old O2 space into smaller retail spots.

I am a subscriber and I had Co-Pilot to summarize it:

Hoffman & Associates is planning a retail renovation at 802 Semart Drive in Raleigh’s Seaboard Station, aiming to subdivide spaces and upgrade the building while keeping current tenants. The 47,077-square-foot property, valued at $10.5 million, previously housed O2 Fitness, which closed in April. Seaboard Station continues to attract new retailers and restaurants, including The Common Market, Pizzeria Toro, Boatman Spirits Co., and K38 Baja Grill. A social district allowing outdoor alcohol consumption recently launched, and a separate redevelopment of the Seaboard Train Station is also in progress.

Is there any word on when Pins Mechanical will open? Haven’t heard anything since they announced them as a tenant a while ago.

I really hope this does well so tucked away in a dead-end part of town… I really think Seaboard Station area needs some late-nite entertainment options to keep it lively. I’d also like to see SOME movement on the Logan’s lot. Mostly for the selfish reason of wanting the 20-story proposal to come to fruition and block the abysmal parking deck from view coming in from Capital lmao
