301 Hillsborough / Raleigh Crossing

Good point. I used to go to DT Crossing a lot when I lived up there. Went recently and it’s unrecognizable (in a good way) from all the development and revitalization. I’m ok with the name now. #nostalgia

Haymarket and Newmarket are the two sides of North Ridge in north Raleigh. Aren’t those also Boston???

I think every big town had a Haymarket back in “the day.” I always think of Chicago though when I see Haymarket - but then I teach about the Haymarket riot at least once a year.

And Raleigh’s Haymarket is one side of a country club subdivision. :joy:

Had to keep those horses feed to keep them running. To bad about tall the pollution they left behind for someone to scoop up. :grinning:

And where I grew up.

Yeah, me too. :house_with_garden:

Not to mention the flies their waste incubated.
In a world where neither screens nor air conditioning existed.

Is there a webcam link for this project?

Not as far as anyone has found so far

Well I’ll be damned. I can see the crane from my townhouse. Can see it from work as well. Can’t get away from this thing’s watchful eye.

They’re working fast! I think that’s the parking deck ramp they’re building now.

Thanks for the photos! It’s been a very long wait to see something go up here!

The view from the street corner (not pictured) is pretty crazy. The round columns seem like they’re right on the sidewalk. This is gonna be insane once it’s built

I feel like I’ve seen that crane top somewhere recently…

I hope they plan on protecting the building from cars careening into it from Dawson. I’ve seen some messed up car wrecks downtown and Dawson and McDowell are the worst because of the speed.

We could put metal bars or fences like they do in Rome.
