He’s got a perfect launch pad for a few days. @OakCityDylan, look to the left of the Quorum Center and you can see 301 rising.

I think that “little bump/rise” has about one more floor left… :joy:

Attempt to show the respective heights of the Holiday Inn and 301 construction as well as some additional angles.

I agree. It just seems disappointingly short to me.

Designed during the 250 foot limit. Same with Nexus if it is not a dead project.

But at least it got built, compared to every peer city downtown Raleigh is lagging behind in active major construction projects. Once this, Two Glenwood, Smoky Hollow, and that hotel on Glenwood are finished there’s really only Seaboard Station that we know will be active in 2021. Haven’t heard a peep from Salisbury Square and no hard date on 121 F.

It just seemed like 250 feet would look taller. It will add density to the skyline, but it won’t truly stand out.

Whatever decade that 400h gets built in, there will be nice density in that area.

I believe there is the height equivalent of 4-4.5 floors left. On the penultimate floor there is a huge stepped in tier. And then another 40 feet of building. In the pics there is rebar and columns in the area where the tiered roof will be meaning another floor and then the stepped in area, another floor, parapet and crown. Which is why i’m thinking, about another 40 feet to go.

My biggest problem with it, and eventually that whole block, is that its proportions are/will be awkward. It’s just too thick for its height.

I need one of those gigantic baby emojis here.

Last we heard, they have put the rest of the block on hold, so I’m really hoping that means they’ve gone back to the drawing board now that the height restrictions have been lifted, and will go even taller - even if only slightly - with the other tower(s). Any sort of height variation would be welcomed.

Ah, thank you @OakCityDylan & @GucciLittlePig ! I just like to think of 301 Hillsro being a giant husky baby.

I’d love for buildings to be taller and more slender for the rest of the block. It would definitely play to the developer’s advantage to go higher on the remaining parcels so that the western buildings have an eastern view.
