301 Hillsborough / Raleigh Crossing

I hadn’t noticed this detail on the south face of the parking deck before.

I noticed it.

Looks like they may do the whole side. Not sad for some color on this deck.

How did you not get me in your shot? :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

It was part of my artistic vision to make it look okay.

Hey Kane! Look at this!!!

Own it and fix it. They’re making it interesting instead of something you glance away from.

Is it just me or does it look like the sides are more permanent and the part that will be inside the deck once Phase 2 happens is matching but temporary looking?

Very nice surprise to see them doing this.

I agree with that. The west facing look like banners, not installations with frames/backing.

… so how soon are we talking here?

Is the grassy area to the west of the building permanent or just holding space before phase 2 starts?

Just holding space. The parking deck will connect in some capacity, and they already have the beginnings of the closest columns coming out of the ground by the grass.

RAL Today newsletter had a little section on this. I didn’t think they had released renderings/designs of the second tower yet but they’re claiming it’ll be done in 2024?

They link to a local CBS article that doesn’t really say much. Honestly it seems they have the Raleigh Crossings/Creamery developments mixed up. The video in their writeup is about the Creamery and not this. Does RAL Today know something we don’t?

The CBS article is laughable and nothing new. RALToday unfortunately is reporting crap news it seems. They’re usually better than that.

The information in the CBS article is inaccurate. They’re confusing Raleigh Crossing (301 Hillsborough) with The Creamery project by lumping together elements from each project and referring to it as 301 Hillsborough.
Edit: I called CBS17 so they could make corrections. My good deed for the day :slightly_smiling_face:

@OakCityDylan @JWH Agreed, that’s why I thought it was a bunch of garbage. Granted I’m sure the editors at CBS17 aren’t as locked in with this stuff as we all are.

Having said all of that, has there been any movement on tower #2 yet with this? I’d say they did a great job with the first one and I’m sure we’re all excited to see another unused parking lot disappear in DTR.

“Things” are in motion but the 2024 completion mentioned would take a “miracle” per my source. Also, Pendo has completed their upfit and employees are now coming into the office. Pizza oven is also functional it seems.

It could take that long to just build a building.

Looks like the building will actually start getting some use.
