400 Hillsborough Tower

It seems like 19 18 floors

It’s 15 complete, working on 16.

Dawg you add like 4 floors every time there’s a new photo. They put up maybe a floor a week, it’s gonna be a while still…

I’m getting nervous that they’ve started with the glass… but only above the parking deck levels… they are still planning on fulling wrapping this entire building in glass… right? :grimacing:

Possibly the priority is getting the building ā€œdried inā€ for finished spaces since that would be on the critical path of the schedule.

Hopefully.

Just a guess.

Gotcha, that actually makes a lot more sense - so they can continue on interior work once the office/residential portion is fully screened, then move onto screening the deck portion whenever, since it can still be used without screening until then.

Although I’m not seeing the furring strips/mullions for the curtain wall at the parking deck. Doesn’t make sense to send that crew back again for 2 levels when they’ve already installed 6+.

I’m thinking we’re getting a different material over the garage

That’s correct, its a different theme all together with different materials.

Agreed! Critical path runs through getting the building dried in, work on interiors so you can maintain your schedule. Parking garage always sits on the back burner

If this was being designed from scratch now, you’d have to wonder if the pool/observation deck would still be oriented southeast towards Fayetteville Street and the CBD or if it’d be facing northwest and oriented towards Smokey Hollow and the rest of what Glenwood South will become. If facing NW you’d have the advantage of elevation to give it a more dynamic view. Who knows!
