865 W Morgan Street (former Goodnight's)

I love that…

I can’t speak for anyone but myself, but I’d be willing to pay more to live in an attractive apartment building that incorporates a historic building into it’s design. It’s unique and interesting. How does that not add value when everything else just looks like the same regurgitated boring blah box? What happened to businesses setting themselves apart from the crowd? I mean, this place overlooks railroad tracks and a prison ffs!

(No offense to you personally. Between this and Park City South, I’m feeling extra salty about the boringness of new residential developments this week.)

Oh we’re in complete agreement. Pity the developers don’t there are enough of us to justify the extra cost!

Goodnights’ final shows at the current location will be at the end of April, per WRAL.

This still sucks. Was there a few weeks ago and will miss the vibe there

They do seem to be implying that a new location is being announced soon, so that’s exciting.

Didn’t they already announce? I thought it was going in the old Junior League store space in Village District. [Citation needed]

Yeah I’m curious to see where they go. But the Morgan St. location has so much nostalgia and history to it. It’s hosted some of the worlds best comedians and also used to be an old creamery building. They still have the original ice cream machine in the downstairs basement bar.

Holy cow! I didn’t know it was a creamery. See what I did there? :cow:

Wow. Check out the diversity in that shot. True to the company name I guess.

To be fair, they had two employees who weren’t Scots-Irish. Two of them were English descent.

Is this project delayed or changed? Goodnights was supposed to be having their last shows at the current location at the end of April. It’s now the end of April with no announcement of a new location and they have shows scheduled for May. They also have shows booked out until November.

That’s a good question, we booked tickets back in January for what we believed to be one of the final shows at the end of April. No additional months were scheduled beyond May at that time and when I just checked after the show it’s booked beyond November like you mentioned. Let’s hope something has changed, I’m going to miss this place.

This is a Gregg Sandreuter project, so I am not surprised that it is delayed.

It’s not delayed. Design is rolling along now. I can check the project schedule next week and confirm…

You would HAVE to think they’ve done their due diligence on the filtration front if they’re aiming to have people packed into an intimate, underground space…
