AC Hotel Raleigh Downtown

I am working on a different project where the architect is varying the metal panel thicknesses between 1" and 2" to create texture on specific building elevations. Thought it could be a cool look for huge blank corner wall of this building as well or maybe random colored panels?

Short of going back through the nearly 200 posts on this project, can anyone shortcut the answer to whether or not this includes condos? I seem to remember that it did, and then it didn’t.
Thanks!

The condos were deleted. It is just a hotel.

Yeah as Allen said, they were removed. Legend has it they needed different elevators for the condo floors, which posed issues for the developer. Still the same height, just all hotel rooms.

And yes those colorful panels look great. Maybe someone could put them on a parking deck also. We have a lot of bare looking ones.

Can’t say that I am on board for the proposed purple and blue tiles on the facade of The Willard. I think that I’d rather see tonal variation for interest. Colors come and go and oftentimes age poorly.

not proposed. just an idea. i think what you suggest is the actual proposal. a bunch of greys.

The Willard lot is looking completely different now. Really opening that section up… going to look great there!

Old perimeter wall is down. Old sidewalk remains for some reason.

Retaining wall making progress.

They’re going deep with the retaining wall. Seems the lot grade will be level with Glenwood which is much lower than the west side of the lot.

Forgot to upload these yesterday.

Note the rebar in the center. Foundation going in!

That fence is playing tricks on me. I keep thinking it’s a small expanse of grass rising behind the construction site, leading the site to appear much larger than it actually is. :man_shrugging:

Looking for a new app. The one I was using had a lot to be desired.

That retaining wall is actually pretty tall, or the construction site is deep depending on how you look at it.
