Anyone know the opening date for The Willard? I know it’s supposed to be sometime this month. I’m getting excited to have a drink at the rooftop bar haha.

Looks like the end of the month! I was able to get rates on their website for Oct 1st but not Sept 22nd. Admittedly, I’m too lazy to check more dates in between to see the exact open date haha

Yeah, they don’t have anything before Oct 1.

Rooms start at $341, and are $609 for the 300 sq ft balcony suites… Wow, that’s expensive for Raleigh!

Nothing on their website mentions the name Willard. I’m going to change the name of this thread to match the name of the property.

Also, a few renderings of the rooftop restaurant/bar. It says it will be open for lunch and dinner.

That sign still gets me.

Bar looks great but they’re out their mind with them rates. It’s been a minute but every time I checked rates at Origin it was under 200

I love these super bland decors, it ensures that my outfits always POP.

That’s ‘nicest spot in the market’ rates and I know that’s a low bar for DTR but…whew!
Those are a shade below Umstead but a shade above Longleaf. Interesting.
I bet those come down soon enough.

Geez, my hotel reservations in Geneva, Switzerland will be cheaper.

Oh yeah, DTR Holiday Inn’s great view is no more.

Omg you’re traveling around Europe again?! My heart can’t take all your cool pictures! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes::broken_heart:

My roundtrip fare from CLT to Geneva in January is technically only $1. Plus $450 in fuel surcharge and airport fees.

I’m hoping this may be the hotel that out-of-town hockey teams stay at. I hear they stay at The Renaissance in North Hills. Would be a nice alternative. :grinning:

They might turn their noses up at it still being a Marriott haha. Not sure if they’re as privileged as The NBA though.

The Renaissance is operated by Marriott. Granted sometimes these things are well hidden so it gives the place a more unique aspect.

Had no clue :joy: If I was an athlete I’d probably rather stay on Glenwood no matter what the name was.

Me too!! I walk by it a lot.

Are you buying Deek?

Wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, awesome, but I always leave that place broke and dissatisfied. Have a great time Fran.
