Agreed-- since waay before Tao Auto this spot has had so much potential. Dram + Draught was cool while it lasted there but too short. I hope their new spot can hit the same bar without the building’s cool factor (walking the site, it doesn’t feel anywhere near the same but I’ll reserve judgement until multiple visits to explore, as before…). The second tower here will be good for DTR / GloSo but the vibe will likely not be replaced (even with container retail spots in the courtyard). Then you add (another) monolith parking deck and…the bitter taste of progress…If only capitalism embraced form / function with a healthy dose of artistry more often…
Anyone know why Tower II at Bloc 83 did not at least go to 12 stories, which I think is zoning, being they clam to have tenants waiting.
“One Glenwood’s immediate, resounding success” according to this story?
“tenants ready to lease some space,” Blair said. “We’re looking to be finished the first of January 2021.”
I may be wrong but maybe they are at the height limit.
Ah forgot about that ds thing of you can build to 20 if everyone is under 5 ft tall.
Issuer Direct looking into office space at Two Glenwood
That’s interesting. A little over a month ago they were looking at the 10th floor of One Glenwood.
Or, I can’t read the article, are they looking for more space in addition to the One Glenwood space?
Correct. Article says that they are growing faster than anticipated so they need even more room than they’ve already leased at One Glenwood.
They will need 50% more space and may use temp space with WeWork in the meantime. We did the same in Charter Square with Industrious before our 510 Glenwood space was ready.
You don’t run with it strapped to your back @OakCityDylan?
Which run club is this? State of Beer/Runologie?
It is, with extra characters.
You’re living my best life. Lol
I do Nog on Mondays but I don’t get to live or work downtown, or take the cool photos you do.
Woohoo!! I’ll keep running, taking pics and posting them for ya!
Well shoot, I am a regular there…
May see you this evening if the hurricane doesn’t cancel it. LOL
Got an impromptu tour of Dram and Draught tonight. Looks awesome, and they’re basically ready. Waiting on alcohol permits but are thinking middle of next week opening. Good thing since almost every trace of the old location disappeared today…
Do we have any knowledge on this board in terms of construction costs? I’m curious the price differences between this horrible new trend of putting this material as a building facade, as opposed to brick, which is timeless and fits in a downtown environment.
