Bloc 83 - One Glenwood and Origin Hotel

Origin Hotel replied to me today and said they are planning to open beginning of March.

Saw this on WRAL this morning…
“Not sure what, but something is changing at Calavera on Morgan Street in Raleigh - in the meantime, they are closed. Their Facebook post stated, “We have some big things coming in the next month or so… and that’s when we will tell you! We appreciate your patience and we can’t wait to share our next phase with you all!””

Crossing my fingers they’re moving again and that whole spot is going to be a new phase of Bloc 83. It could also just be that they’re renovating or something. But, next “phase”…

I’m enjoying it now. Definitely better than Chipotle. They even have forbidden rice!

Is the orange cloth awning permanent on Origin? Looks kind of cheap

I’d assume so. I doubt they’d put up an awning at the end of construction that matches their color scheme and then replace it with something else.

I’m in the same boat. I actually don’t love the way the exterior turned out but I’m okay with it. I’m definitely more intrigued by the below sidewalk level bar and restaurant.

Terrible glare on the windows so I didn’t bother to take more, but the stuff on the windows is down and you can see inside. It’s looking nice. The sign for the restaurant is up outside too. Forgot to get a pic tho
