Downtown South development

I wager dirt starts moving out there in the next 6-9 months (which would mean Kane is working here in tandem with Platform phase 2 as well as continued NHills projects) but I also wager that DTS is a decade long development and any stadium out there is on the other side of that…(if it ever happens in my lifetime…).

Yeah, my thought is they arent in a huge rush because the later they build the more tenants there will be in Platform, Park City South, Hammel Towers and Mira. Can get slightly higher rents and more “rooftops” nearby for potential customers. Basically DTS wont be such an island.

South side looooong play. No cap.
BRT out here in 2036…but those will be some sweet driverless busses!

I always thought they were kinda bullish on the indoor music venue? I remember them announcing a big time partnership too for that building?

The music venue and low-rise apartment building will be the first new structures to break ground, according to their last community engagement meeting.

Need to prepare for the Downtown South Stadium deal……oh wait……this is Raleigh

Wrong city……mistakenly thought this was about 99% of every other American City……

There will never be a stadium built here. This city thrives off mediocrity unfortunately.

Every time I travel, I feel embarrassed when coming back home to Raleigh.

My favorite place to vacation is larger, cooler cities than Raleigh. And I love it for a little awhile. Then I am reminded why I chose not to actually live in one of them, and come back home where I appreciate Raleigh. Not that it doesn’t frustrate me sometimes, and I always want us to do better. But if you’re embarrassed about living here, I’m not sure who you’re embarrassed to, but maybe find somewhere to move you can be happy to live. I did, and it was Raleigh.

They probably would appreciate Charlotte. I hear they be got a lot.

Except for municipal election voter turn out

The only cities that are better enough to be worth moving to are in other countries, for me, and that’s a big lifestyle adjustment. In the US I think it’s a trade. Any other city you choose comes with pros and cons.

Cooler, large cities. Small quaint towns. Isolated islands. Cultural meccas. They’re all awesome to visit. Very few, if any, have all the comforts of home afforded here.

I was in the Hamptons a few weeks ago and every time I met someone that asked where I was from it was utter confusion since 95% of the people there were floating between NYC, LA, and Miami and only know that lifestyle (and the vast connected network among those living in those three cities) .

Regardless, I’m always so grateful for Raleigh when I’m back. We are lucky to have such a clean, laidback city with such incredible growth potential.
