I think that east downtown would benefit more from a more substantial grocer, rather than a specialty/novelty type one anyway. Get a more comprehensive grocer in there and everyone will forget about them.
Saw this pop up on WRAL. I haven’t really been in the station much recently but I haven’t had much of a reason to either.
You can’t send the drone from Key West?
But man think of how much you can contribute to the “Show off things from other cities” thread. If Key West is actually a city…
Or…how about this…he relocates, but while living somewhere else he comments remotely about how much better the parking situation is, and does so constantly on a daily basis.
THAT WOULD BE HILARIOUS!
Going in the old Locals space?
Is that social handle even active anywhere? Couldn’t find it on Instagram or Twitter. Definitely excited for a new Transfer option though, I’m there every week and I’ve missed having a good seafood option.
Can’t find anything either, but N&O had a nice article a few months back summarizing the plan for this place.

"Yatai looks to carry on that seafood market component and pair it with fast casual seafood and steamy bowls of ramen.
Leading that menu will be longtime Triangle sushi chef Magno Tapia, who comes from the heights of the Triangle sushi world, having worked with M Sushi chef and owner Mike Lee for more than a decade."
I hope they have a Mango Talapia roll because, well, that just seems like a no-brainer.
That sounds great. Totally my own brain, but I feel like I’m much more often in the mood for something quick and lunchy like sushi and ramen when I’m in a food hall versus a piece of fish.
The diving/fishing in Key West are so much better than Raleigh. I mean night and day better!
You’ve obviously never been snorkeling in Crabtree Creek by Atlantic Ave…
Makes me wonder how this will compete with BulBox down the hall… different menus and concepts, of course, but both will serve sushi-adjacent (BulBox does a poke bowl).
Missed out on that one. Did like Locals also.
Well for starters I’ll probably go to this place lol. Nothing against BulBox, just never really got into them
Bul Box just added ramen, too. Maybe they’re feeling the pressure.
One of my favorite ramen joints in the world specializes in Korean ramen. If they leaned into that as a counterpoint to the Japanese style I’d be very happy.
