Garden West - 15 N. West St

Anyone know the latest on the Garden West project? Really hope they keep that rooftop sign – it’d add so much character. This spot could totally bring that corner to life, can’t wait for it to open. Re-attaching the rendering for reference:

To my knowledge construction is complete and they are waiting on specific tenants for build-outs.
There are leasing signs out front now.

that’s a cool anchor system for those retention walls. had no clue they were leaning like that

Cool, and extremely not-cheap looking. They are really leaning in to that aesthetic. ha ha. Probably cost more than just rebuilding the wall, but means they don’t have to tear out all that vegetation which I guess provides some isolation from the street.

Still hoping they put in a guard rail, though.

I wonder if a future tenant would build some sort of elevated deck/patio over the supports b/c they are eating up a lot of outdoor real estate. And would also be a trip hazard (as is) to some inebriated patrons.

Seems like a great spot for some built in bench seating :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

In case anyone has a lead, pass it on to John.

No need to pass it on - looks like @John will be getting all the emails from interested lessees directly!

EDIT: I may have misread or misunderstood but I am keeping my stupid comment for transparency’s sake

OOOOO….did I just become a land owner?

Are we not getting that cool lighted branding/signage on the top of the building?

You tell me. You are the owner.

I heard the owner value engineered out the cool lighted branding/signage in lieu of a vinyl banner to be installed at a future date.

Brother, they didn’t even power-wash the damn “Raleigh Crossfit” paint off the outside of the building

I only see one dog in that rendering. Seems a little low.

Also I’m curious what a Raleigh Whisk is.

Ugh. I hope this isn’t what we get. From the DRA’s page about Garden West:

However, they do link to a brochure with the pretty renderings we all love so there’s hope.

Ah that’s so terrible…

We were proposed a building concept that could have had one of Raleigh’s best hangout spots and it’s now turned into a parking oasis.

It seems like someone on their team posted the rendering they’d prefer and not the one that’s being advertised by the property owner.

I hope it doesn’t cause issues for the owner.

Where’s the garden??

This is steps from my office so I hope it ends up cooler than this.
