Glenwood South Restaurant/Bar Renovations

Wonder what kind of plants they have at the ‘high’ garden?

Sounds like the 2nd floor “Sage Room” will be used for private events.

I eat out a lot and like to spend money on food… However, $150 for a charcuterie board seems a little excessive. Must be some damn good cheese and meat on that board

Yeah I saw that too. Never had a charcuterie board before but I’ll be damned if I ever pay $150 for a luxury lunchable.

FWIW - their site is very much a work in progress, I wouldn’t take anything too seriously yet. The contact us forms don’t even work and the text is white on white. Also, I just tried emailing their info@ email address listed on the website for more info and they both bounced.

Looks like a very cool concept and place!

Always been enamored with the building, long thought it was a shame that the place has felt Souless from the start. Glad to see it reborn and hope there’s less event-y trendy going on with this iteration. :eyes:
Would be great if the lower level gets after some honest to goodness Spanish tapas / pinxtos kinda stuff (and I mean awesome food that’s not overpriced because the goal is to get you to hang out and imbibe - but I’m not holding my breath). Niall has invested locally and that’s cool. Good on him.
Plan to give this a try but it’s got a high bar to clear with Cortez cranking out some good-good next door.

Event only spaces are a deterrent for general public traffic. Take for instance the city market flagship building that once was home to Greenshields, now an event space that looks deserted most of the time. When Greenshields was thriving the large outdoor space was filled with customers. It made the whole city market are look alive.

Talked to the bouncer at The Avenue tonight when I was walking by, asked him what were the plans for Snoopys and he said they’re planning to renovate it and knock down the exterior wall facing Glenwood. It’s gonna have another bar and food will be served from the Snoopys building also. And since it’ll be a similar setup like Cornerstone, you’ll be able to walk from one building to the other with your food/drinks and vice versa.

My prediction about this bar eventually replacing Cornerstone is becoming even more likely…

Excited to see what they turn this into. Do we have any idea on what the concept is?

I thought restaurant?

Lots of outdoor seating that help activate the corner of Boylan and Hillsborough.

Scope of plan is pretty nice. Looking forward to this and Longleaf doing similar things with canopies / outdoor seating / street activation. I don’t recall anything concrete about concept being floated out there for this location yet. Hopefully another welcome addition…

Drive by daily no progress in last month. Not sure what is going on.

It would be amazing if they actually painted “painted art mural” on the wall like that.

This appears to have started with footers being poured now (the empty space) and it looks like there’s activity inside the old Devolve Moto space.

Yeah just noticed that today. They seem to have the old space opened up with people working inside. Finally!

I ate lunch outside on the upper terrace of Hibernian on the 26th with a colleague and her husband. Needless to say that we were under the heaters. In any case, they were working gangbusters that day on the space and that shocked me since Monday was the work “holiday” for many since Christmas fell on a Sunday.

This is like another form of ADUs but for businesses.
