Pendo is only 250’ tall right? Ground there is ~350’ so top is around ~600’.
Creamery residential ground level 308’ + 432’ = top at 740’.

In a way, having a 400+ footer sitting somewhat lower than the buildings on Fayetteville will give us the variety of skyline height.
None of the 3 towers planned in Durham will crest 300 feet too. Should be two around 300 feet and one about 260+.
Seems like the region lacks towers in the 301+ to 400 foot range. There’s only The Eastern in North Hills and the University Tower in Durham.
If Downtown Raleigh had no height restrictions or all set to 40 by default would some of these projects be in the 21-29 range I wonder.
Wow hope this actually happens would be insane
They really want to build as tall as they can I see.
Also are you saying they added another floor (36 to 37)?
I meant 36, not 37, but they definitely want to build.
Makes sense now. This project is definitely massive for that area. Haven’t been to downtown Raleigh in nearly 5 years, but I suspect the skyline has changed massively since I was last there.
There hasn’t really been anything above 25 stories in 5 years, but it’s far less bare. However, that urbanism is really starting to kick off and now is when we are seeing all these new 400+ foot buildings under construction. Downtown hasn’t seen the massive construction like other cities have yet, but like I said, it’s coming. We have 3 buildings under construction right now at the 250ft range, and 1 more at 435ft. Roughly 12 or so approved plans call for buildings between the heights of 200 and 300 stories, and another 17 zoned above that, with most buildings likely to be somewhere between 400 and 550ft, with the exception of the RCC towers which may even go 750 feet high.
Hope that whatever hotel developer gets chosen they have a good design. Would love to see a tampered tower with a rooftop infinity pool. Or any hotel anywhere in the city with a decent pool complex.
I know the city wants one of the RCC towers to be residential now, so I can imagine a pool isn’t out of the question.
Just a curious question. How do you get into / out of this pool?
Amazing but did cost nearly $13 million to build the pool alone.
Bingo ! Direct hit ! I didn’t want to put it out there but, I spoke with the most prominent developer in Raleigh, So I don’t have to name drop lol, but he’s not gonna be outdone, lets just say as far as the Glenwood South area goes so look for a certain project inwhich, I will just say is in it’s phase three to surpass or rival the Creamery lol, developers are like bankers they don’t want to be outdone.
According to this article about the infinity pool in the image @Francisco shared,
“The mechanism to enter the pool is based on the door of a submarine, and it has a ‘rotating spiral staircase which rises from the pool floor when someone wants to get in or out — the absolute cutting edge of swimming pool and building design…’”
I have to take your word on that construction in recent years are ramping up especially with the 301 Hillsborough Street area being rezoned for more 20-40 story skyscrapers. This is very exciting to hear!
It’s truly the start of the major development up by glenwood south. Will be a first in that part of town. Even in general, it’s a game changer. Like someone else said, the competition is massive. Everybody wants to be the next big thing and developments like this help. Maybe this could even push Kane to be more willing to develop Smoky Hollow even higher, possibly to the point it’s the tallest building in Raleigh. We already know that residential apartment and hotel rooms are above 96% capacity in Raleigh right now, and I can imagine more Millennials and Gen Z will be seeking new jobs in cities like Raleigh soon, and these young generations are driving this development. Building higher isn’t a shocker at all. If Tidal chooses to build to the 40-story limit on a property they acquired, and chose to keep the same floor height as the holiday inn replacement, we’re looking at 600 feet tall, most likely just for retail and residential.
Tidal is definitely a game changer. Their 300 Hillsborough is 20 floors residential/hotel 233’ tall. And there has been some recent submittal activity for their 20 story building at Wilmington/Lenoir. Their CAM block is where they could go really tall though.
