Moore Square

That’s a great activity to show off the new Moore Square.

I hope the new activities at Moore Square will help City Market which is pretty nice now, but feels like it could be so much more.

Is that building design the go to for the City of Raleigh for buildings in parks now? There is another new park in Raleigh with nearly the exact same building, as far as overall shape and design. The one I’m talking about is only restrooms and a supply closet, but seems similar size, same angled type roof, same colors, etc. Hopefully this one in Moore square can keep their windows intact for longer than a weekend.

Not a slam dunk, but a small victory

There are going to be SO MANY happy kiddos in this park on the daily. Between that and Marbles, I think our family found our new stomping grounds for the foreseeable future.

I’m hoping that’s how it works out. I’m morbidly curious to see if the homeless/transient population will return there after all of the work. Does anyone know if they closed or are planning to close some of the shelters and ministries that were located nearby? I feel like I remember hearing about that in the past.

The Salvation Army moved a few years ago north on Capital to a new building. The Oak City Outreach Center is done now since Oak City Cares has opened down on Wilmington Street south of the city.

We still have the Rescue Mission on that block, I’m not aware of any plans to move or upgrade.

Right or wrong, these helpful centers are getting upgraded which is great, but moving, which is debatable whether that’s helpful also. I’m under the impression that the city will want a BIG ROI for their investment into Moore Square so the block to the east will be a large development.

Well they do have a place to bathe now with the upgrades…

I mean, thank god right?

Those jets look like they go entirely to high, did they get a zoning variance?

I’m highly concerned that the mist generated by such a propulsive water feature may cause water spots on nearby windows

What about the unwanted and accidental douche?

@John/@Nickster managed to get my first LOL of the day.

Reminder, District D candidate Brittany is kicking off her campaign at 5:30 at the new Halcyon at 517 W Jones St. I’ve talked to her before and it seems she’s pro responsible development and density. I know this is a “Moore Square Redevelopment” but thread but the water jet height variance comment spun this banter and clearly led to #RalPol. Hope to meet some of you fine folks there!

Nobody in this group lives in Moore Square.

Isn’t it state property so it’s exempt from fountain height restrictions?
