Who’s counted cranes lately? I remember when we thought we may lose every crane in the sky and I think we’re near a record now, no? Maybe once Omni’s gets installed since we just lost the city hall crane?

There’s the one going up for the history museum, so I think we’re even for the moment. +1 for the Omni crane (or…cranes???)

It looks like they’ve been delivering more metal beams for this section to get started soon.

I started to post yesterday, but is the rebar sticking up from the parking structure the beginnings of columns for the secondary building? It is hard to tell from this angle. But if the building is steel, then they shouldn’t need rebar for more reinforced concrete. OR is there another level to the parking structure still to go? I’m confused on what is going on. Perhaps a rendering could solve this mystery :thinking:

@GucciLittlePig has the rendering he just refuses to share with us because he is bad and also not good!!!

The near corner is open plaza at Jones St elevation, so you’re seeing rebar for planters and knee walls, lamp posts, etc. Not another parking level.

I’ve been thinking these same things, but I agree with mmodlin that the rebar isn’t for another level. Also, they’ve assembled some beams now by the building, just since my post earlier.

I went by to get a better visual for myself of where the L wing is situated. Took these too, though it may not help much not being in person.

I also saw the little materials example display is coming along, giving us a better idea what the exterior materials will look like. I can see how the darkish blue glass from the rendering is being done.

Nice pics! Still wish that Kimpton hotel had went up.

If you missed it - while the Hair Curler is remaining, they are now also planning on building a 13-story (so “14” lol) hotel on the small lot immediately facing Dawson! So something will still end up popping there from this view, just smaller than previously proposed.

Forgot about that. Thank you!!!:+1::+1:

What’s with the one white column on the corner of the L wing? It looks cylindrical too, not an I-beam.
