Che is pretty affordable and Bul Box is a little bit pricey you get a lot of food. The Indian place is pretty reasonable as well.
Can others explain their hearburn over the Benchwarmers prices? I had a pretty good bagel sandwich, paid 9 bucks and change. Which item/combo makes this really expensive?
I couldnāt tell you.
I mean, if you wanna get fancy, then you pay those fancy prices A simple bacon and egg bagel costs $6. Thatās a deal IMO. You can also get a bagel with cream cheese and a coffee for $4.25.
Now, $20 for a dozen is pricey, but they are cooking those things in a wood fired oven. A dozen at the bagel chains is about $10-12.
Iāve only been there once (a second time I had a train to catch and there was a long line), but the prices were reasonable and the bagel sandwiches my group got were delicious. The beer prices at Transfer and Burial, on the other handā¦
Sorry, but $6 for only oneā¦I guess you have to pay for the building, lights, parking, insurance, etcā¦lol
Beer can certainly be all over the place. For me, I have this kind of $6 threshold for a 16 oz pint of anything but can go higher if itās some limited release or if one of my favorites. I find $4 for a pint to be
I also think once you shop for beer enough and know the bottle shop prices, you just canāt help but laugh at the bar prices. Iām also a huge fan of places that offer smaller pours so I can try different kinds. I pay less and get to try more even though I may be getting less actual liquid for my dollar, which is fine with me. (If I wanted quantity then Iād hit the PBR I guess)
You think $6 is a lot for a bacon and egg bagel? Heck they used to be an even $5 at Helios 8 years ago.
Where can you go and get quality bacon and a real cracked and cooked egg for less than $5 in downtown Raleigh?
ā¦despite it being wrapped in a humble tortilla.
Manhattan Cafe or Big Edās come to mind for places with possible cheaper eats. I see that MC has a bagel with cream cheese for $2.49. I bet theirs a cheap biscuit with meat and eggs at BE also.
Andā¦NY Bagel on Glenwood S I believe.
I agree that āfusionā has been a nifty way to say, ādonāt quite get it but still want to capitalize on the original ideaā.
Big Edās isnāt cheap. Bacon and eggs are almost $8 (but you do get toast and grits). Not sure about Manhattan Cafe, but NY Bagel on Glenwood South is a lower quality bagel than even Brueggers (IMO). Very disappointed when I went there hoping to find the owners of the NY Bagel III in Cary, but instead found it to be a franchise with the same name.
The Person St Pharmacy does real good bacon, eggs and toast for $6.
Source: Iām breakfast out twice a week kinda guy
It will probably make everyone on this website sick but, my favorite āhandmade-nothing that has to be microwavedā breakfast is a bacon, egg, & cheese and can come from pretty much āanyā gas stationā¦
Ha, when on road and want some quick eats to get you to where youār going as fill up the car, those pre-made bacon, egg and cheese things are not all that bad.
Thatās why Sheetz sprung up from a small mom and pop corner store in Altoona, PA to a multi billion dollar company
Iām not saying I donāt love a Bojangles biscuit or a greasy sheetz breakfast, but Iām talking about a quality breakfast. Like thick cut seasoned bacon with fresh scrambled eggs. You canāt get that for less than $6 anywhere downtown.
Actually I avoid Sheetz, try to go to local stores.
Like I use to tell businesses that pushed me to do projects fast, cheap and high quality, you can have two of the three.
Meh. Theyāre from my hometown so itās kind of neat to be able to go a place Iāve grown up with despite moving 400 miles away and theyāre a quality family owned company but this is way off topic.
You know what would be a wonderful addition to Transfer or just downtown somewhere, is a walk up only Cookout. #gottobeNC
