What’s interesting about this monstrosity The past few designs I’ve seen on this thread are hideous
I think that looks like something that someone would want to tare down to build something better.
Next step in the process underway for this 10 townhome development at Bloodworth and Cabarrus. Project looks to be led by Concept 8.
That’s good news. I drove by a couple days ago and saw a For Sale sign and thought it might be dead.
That parcel was put up for sale right after the original owner got it upzoned. He clearly indicated that he would be the developer but then he listed it. I believe the property was listed at three million when I check a while back. It’s about half an acre.
Checking the appearance commission agenda and I see this one pop up for 214 East Cabarrus. A 3-story building with garage out front.

Not too exciting but I would like to A LOT more of this. In bulk too. Not just one here and one there.
NYFD station moved south like a lot of northers !!!
I’d like it way more if it was a group of townhomes or something. Or a couple of blocks away from the Downtown Core.
The placement of this development is very weird to me, it’s too close to the CBD.
Given that it’s infill in an urban historic district, I honestly like it a LOT. This is the sort of stuff big cities have in droves.
I absolutely love the look and architecture it just seems so close to the skyscrapers for a SFH
That’s totally fair. I’d prefer the same type of building but with the interior built out as a multi-family plan in these districts.
Even with that said, I’d definitely buy that house lmao if I was a millionaire. Walkable with a view and some outdoor space.
Yeah, I saw the renderings and thought “maybe it’s a duplex?” Nope, just an SFH. Beautiful architecture, fits the character, but not enough people.
Very timeless, classic-looking design. Love it.
Reminds me of this infill home that I really liked in Wilmington, NC

I am pretty much up for stuff like this (though I prefer the garage in the back with an alley) anywhere ITB.
Saaame. The street-front garage is what’s most offensive to me here. If multiple lots were developed at the same time they might be able to get an alley constructed, but I guess there’s no alternative here.
I feel the same. A little grumpy cat about it, but better than a regular old spaced out SFH with a driveway in front anyway.
Can always be broken up in the future.
