Chatham is in Durham’s MSA. Alamance is [in] the Burlington MSA, though it’s part of the Greensboro CSA at the moment. Durham’s growth has been consistently curtailed due to the perception (real and imagine) of their public school system.
NC Courage part owner Naomi Osaka won the Australian Open and represented the club wearing a Courage hat at her victory press conference. Pic in the linked article (near the botto). I’m not sure how to post pics.

Guess who’s the #1 safest large city in the country? Guess who’s the 4th safest city overall?
Miami?
Hint. They are in the same county.
Hint, none are in Florida.
CBS’s The Unicorn takes place in Raleigh. It’s airs on WNCN (channel 17)
Has anybody watched this? I keep meaning to check it out for the Raleigh connection, but haven’t yet.
Yes, I have watched it.
So how is it? Funny? Could you tell it is in Raleigh if the article didn’t say it?
It clearly doesn’t look like Raleigh.
The N&O did a good piece on it last week. The writer and producers are both Broughton grads (Go Caps!) It is set in Raleigh, but filmed in LA. They are making a lot of Raleigh references, trying hard to make it realistic, etc. They wanted to film some in Raleigh this past year, but pandemic so that got put off.

I keep meaning to watch it and keep forgetting to set the dvr.
If you have Amazon prime can subscribe to CBS All Access now Paramount+ which gives you a free week to start with, so binge for a week and then cancel.
We watched a few episodes on Netflix. The show is fine, we happen to love a few of the actors so that made it better in our opinion. We’ll probably watch some more, just not in a rush to.
We watched a few episodes last night. It’s not 100% my style of show, but we did find ourselves laughing out loud several times. I didn’t catch any reference to Raleigh/NC in what we watched.
It’s okay show. They just slap some CGI ‘Raleigh’ on things. Like ‘Raleigh General Hospital’ and they drink Raleigh-based beers.
Wake me up when there’s a One Tree Hill style show that is filmed and based in Raleigh. They can call it Many Trees and Hills.
It’s funny how this works. Dawson’s Creek was filmed in Wilmington, but was suppose to be in New England. Here, The Unicorn is filmed in L.A. masquerading as Raleigh. The NC film industry went south a few years back with a change of governors. It’s making a comeback, but has a ways to go.
The egregious recent one is the show Outer Banks, which was filmed in and around Charleston. And looks it to.
The Wilmington Star News reported that Netflix decided not to film Outer Banks in NC because of the 2016 house bill 2…the “bathroom bill”. Also during that administration the film industry lost much of the tax break it used to bring business to NC.
The NC film industry was killed when the republicans took control of the legislature ten years ago and they got rid of the incentives that the state was giving TV and film makers. So, the TV and film makers moved to other states that give them incentives.
