Yep…yet another one of the many ‘gifts’ of that asinine bill by the crazy ass NC GOP…
Random aside: next weekend I’ll be camping on Hunting Island, which figured prominently in the series.
Raleigh gets TWO mentions in the latest Southern Living’s article about the South’s Best Fried Chicken: Soo Cafe and Beasley’s.
No other place in NC is mentioned.
We have this to look forward to as well (more fried chicken from Ashley Christensen):
I haven’t looked to see whether this is being built out at Midtown East yet, but maybe someone who frequents Wegmans has seen something. It all sounds very fattening, so not something I’d do often…but there will be milkshakes…
According to their Instagram, the Wegman’s one will be the first one to open this spring. I know they have a Project Crispy sign in the window, but I can’t tell if any work has been done there
I’ve been looking forward to this since it was announced.
I don’t care what you think about the virtual imagery of Raleigh on the show. I just don’t care you guys wanted Raleigh to be in the spotlight you got it stop complaining. It’s not gonna be perfect, but these perfection issues is why theirs agree on normal issues such as profesional sports stadiums, corporate 500s, and transit issues. Those put us in the spotlight bug when we get there, and about to get it falls apart because we’re always complaining.
My last time going was back in November. I used to go quite a bit but got super annoyed the last time I went. I took some family from CA there. They liked it originally but the service that night was terrible. It was the first time we had bad service there but I’ll have to try it again.
Not to stoke the CLT < RAL thing, but didn’t Niall open a Beer Garden in CLT that exceeded the RAL Guiness because, well, Meck needs what Meck needs…?
I’ve always felt it must be tough for Charlotte to always never be ATL and then see the Triangle doing it’s thing. Raleigh definitely gets some because of the gov’t / bureacracy here but it’s ‘Got a Lot’, too…
Both have great things happening and both have their nit-picks. No need to toss spears. LoLs
That might be the beer garden that comes in #3 on the list. The article says that it has 400+ beers.
Update: Just checked and it’s the #3 on the list, and the facade of it looks like the twin of the Raleigh Beer Garden. It doesn’t look like it has the same level of “garden” attached to it as the Raleigh site. Frankly, I think that the beer garden concept is an excellent use of land adjacent to a noisy railroad track.
Again, to each their own and I know which one you can walk to…
Niall does what Niall does. I know he has fans
The CLT site touts ‘most beers’ just like the RAL site and, honestly - so what.
I was not surprised he made the CLT play. I’m not surprised it’s the ‘most’ and not surprised it works…
Most (mediocre) beers in the world is a lame title in my mind - I will acknowledge he makes good use of land for his projects but his style is not my pill.
I am confused by this. Can you please explain?
Popular youtuber and former Buzzfeed employee, Safiya Nygaard, has moved to Raleigh and will be making regular content here. She has almost 10 million subs.
Skip to the end: We Moved Across The Country - YouTube
That’s cool. We now have her and Mr. Beast.
My wife had a video of hers on the telly last night and we both agreed it was awful. I just don’t get it.
Oh god! That guy is awful too!!!
Please for the love of God, no one mention the Holderness Family. I wouldn’t be able to handle it.
Like them or not she does have 10M subscribers and can really spot light things about Raleigh. I’m interested to see what they post in the future about their new home!
I’ve never heard of any of these people.
Nor I. I’ve heard of such things, but never actually watch any of them unless my teenage daughter sends them to me. But as @Bryan says, maybe they will generate good publicity for the 'wood.
