Actually Japan is closing in on lost 30 years.
I mean it’s true compared to most other cities, in my eyes. This isn’t the first time I’ve heard that
Why were there only 30 cities in the survey, that means many larger cities were not even included
If you read the article it gives the methodology. They looked at the 100 largest cities per census Bureau data and only reported on the top 30.
Charlotte on pace to pass Raleigh in Tech Jobs
I don’t know the basis for these numbers. Are bio-tech jobs included? Are scientists at colleges (of which there are thousands in the Triangle) included?
But, good for them! Charlotte is really blowing up, and it’s good for Raleigh to be compared to other success stories. But I’d like to see a report like this come from a Raleigh-based group and see how those numbers look then.
Top Real Estate Markets for 2020 - Austin #1 Raleigh #2
The capital of Texas was followed by the Raleigh/Durham metro area. Describing the attributes of the No. 2 city, the report said:
“This market’s concentration of educational institutions – Duke University, the University of North Carolina, North Carolina State University, and several smaller colleges – coupled with the Research Triangle Park, has branded the area as a technology mecca, and it now has more than 89,000 tech jobs, which, at 10.9% of the employment base, ranks third behind Silicon Valley and San Francisco in tech industry share.”
Charlotte made the #4 spot, highlighting NC as the only state with two in the top 5 of real estate growth.
Wow, Raleigh, no The Triangle, should try to out that claim to rest if that’s exaggerated. I bet Charlotte vs Raleigh is probably true but Charlotte vs the triangle, still not even close.
The claim involves Raleigh-Durham, not sure it’s true or what exact jobs they are counting.

Seems like the festival is working great still. Boosting the economy and bringing lots of people to the city!

This is random and meaningless, but I always note the articles that don’t follow “Raleigh“ up with the obligatory “NC”. Well CNN.com has a top story on their homepage and lo-and-behold we got treated the same as Denver with no state mentioned. Unfortunately the story was about the flat-earth conspiracy and the convention recently held here, but alas. Small steps.
Jesus Christ, of all the things to be in the National news for.
At least they did not mention which Raleigh??

“Wake County (Raleigh)” top 10 Large County “Talent Attractor”

Great news, but not surprising.
As is with many of Richard Florida’s other writings where Raleigh can be mentioned in the story/narrative, it isn’t. Raleigh’s only mentioned in the list. He seems to have something against Raleigh.
I don’t know if anyone watches “The Unicorn” on CBS, but in last weeks episode you discover that the show takes place in Raleigh. Of course, it is not usually mentioned and all the local things they show are made up. But, it is interesting to see that the writers place the show in Raleigh.
I’ve never heard of the show, but now I’m interested.
Here’s a link to a N&O story about the show.
