To those giving Thumbs Up/approval to this shit… remember: they are literally kidnapping American citizens based on their appearance - not just “illegals”. We have this thing here in America called “due process” which has been a staple of our freedom and justice system for… a while now… and to be ok with disregarding due process is to be un-American. Call me a patriot but I prefer the (mostly) free and just America I’ve known most of my life prior to this bullshit.

I don’t think that anyone, either right or left, would say that we want to protect dangerous criminals in our country, but this cosplay way of dealing with the situation is not the right answer. Deporting folks because they have a bad check or a marijuana possession conviction from 15 years ago is not making me feel safer. Terrifying entire communities, even those who are American citizens isn’t making America great again. Unfortunately we have a large contingent of people in this country who have been spoon fed a narrative that immigrants in general are a net negative to the country and drain it of resources, and seeing them forcibly removed is some sort of sick revenge porn or “Hunger Games” type entertainment.
Sadly this is nothing new for the USA. Waves of immigrants over the last 200 years have largely been mistreated and blamed for societal problems. This includes, the Irish, Italians, Eastern Europeans, Jews, Greeks, Chinese, Japanese, etc. Heck, we even jailed Japanese-Americans during WW2 since we were at war with Japan. That isn’t mentioning what many in the Black community have put up with ever since being kidnapped and enslaved.
Oddly, we didn’t jail German-Americans in WW2…I wonder why not? What makes them different? I can’t quite put my finger on it.

It sounds like the vast majority of those interned were German nationals, not German ethnics. It seems like the difference here is that the majority of Japanese interned were ethnic Japanese-Americans, not Japanese nationals. I’m certain that there are exceptions here, but those are two different things. It doesn’t sound like German-Americans (citizens) were subjected to internment in the same way that Japanese-Americans (citizens) were. Correctly me if I am misunderstanding.

And some of those who voted for the policies to get rid of the illegals, hire the illegals and want to keep THEIR illegals. Just sweep up all those other illegals and deport them. I actually know some of these said people. And I honestly feel like I am living in the twightlight zone.
