I like the brick and I think it keeps a sense of place. And if the point is to keep the façade à la the Dillon (which was of course 100% private), then I can easily believe the buttressing is cheaper than disassembling and re-laying an entire face.
But tell us how they would do it out in Moore County or wherever that’s so much better, I’m really dying to hear.

No - Dismantling the wall brick by brick, scraping the old mortar off the bricks, and then rebuilding the entire thing would not be easier then adding some temporary buttresses.
Height is inevitable if Raleigh continues its current growth. May take a few years but some of the DX40s will follow through. Apparently we’re up to a 45000 unit shortage now?
We’ll see some rezoning and construction happening if I ran for city council I’ll upgrade zoning to 60, and I will enhance the fire equipment and ladders for that to be possible. If I run I will be NIMBYs worse nightmare.
