Raleigh Union Station and RUSbus Facility / Union West

This “gut” is based on a :bird: singing.

“soon” meaning after now

Why does your birdie think it will be “revised” to something “similar to the initial plans” - and what, exactly, does that mean? Height, more mixed-use (aka reintroducing a hotel)?

These are things that could be.

Sounds like you’re reading from “A Christmas Carol”

However, they only have the foundations for a 23 story building.

My birdie thinks you need to just keep your shirt on about this whole thing, it was at my bird feeder earlier. This was just a cardinal, not an engineer, but still. Keep your shirt on.

If this thing gets built and ends up closer to the original proposal, then I’ll take my shirt off and

TWIST IT 'ROUND MY HAND, SPIN IT LIKE A HELICOPTER!

Has anybody in the entire history of time ever actually called this area “Uptown Raleigh?”

The only time I’ve ever heard uptown used was for the area…wait for it…up from Midtown in North Raleigh.

A crane is born and can be seen from the far lands of the Wild West end

Just for my clarity/sanity - this is the City Hall crane, right? RUSBus didn’t suddenly put one up, as well, right??

All is forgiven. I do appreciate how visible this will be from the vantage point you’ve provided - definitely going to impact the skyline and feeling of density from so many more angles than many recent developments, considering it’s in such a deadzone (tower-wise). Starting to fill a MAJOR gap with this one!

I will be so glad when this opens! It is much needed at Union Station.

The station is such a great space, but like a ghost town when there is not a train arriving/departing soon, as one would expect. And granted, I’ve only walked through it during those times. But I hope this will bring folks into the station and make it a livelier place.

Trains are delayed often and having somewhere to grad food will be great!

So initially they said this wouldn’t open weekends until January, but both the article and their website say they’re open every day except Monday. That’s cool!
