All part of making Raleigh the mini-Brooklyn @GucciLittlePig craves
I’d be just fine with that! Lol
And unlike busses, I actually do take the train and like train stations.
I just came in on the Piedmont and walked by the deli. There were quite a few people there eating!
How’s the AC on the trains these days?
It has actually not been very bad. I actually had a chill, lol! One of the conductors told me they have been trying to pull the cars with bad AC.
any signage on nearby sidewalks for additional encouragement to eat there?
is ther any signage on nearby sidewalks for additional encouragement to eat there?
Yes, they have signs up and down the sidewalk.
Just make sure you don’t take the earliest train. They don’t open until 7:00 I learned this morning. Amtrak coffee was not exactly what I was hoping for this fine Tuesday morning…
Zero danger of that happening. I can’t imagine being awake at 7, much less up and waiting for a train. Thanks for the warning tho.
More delays on Hoffman part?
Maria Thompson, president at Hoffman and Associates, said the Washington, D.C., developer plans to start construction on Union West in 2025.
Probably about the time that the base phase (bus station) is completed anyway. 2025 starts in 16 weeks.
Still using that same, vague ground-floor angle of a conceptual, incomplete rendering… are we EVER going to see what the HELL they have planned for this building? It’s SO strange…
I’m just curious, but when are they going to start building the apartment part of the area
??? Any ideas ?
This tbj article from yesterday says Union West, the apartment portion, will start construction in 2025.
“2025” is technically 4 months away. And yet… zero updated massing, renders, nor even any written descriptions of any updated plans for what the HELL will actually get built… it’s so bizarre for such an apparently MAJOR project…
2025 is also 15 months away. Let’s not pretend any of this is starting on Jan 1. Lack of renderings, etc. is definitely frustrating though. But at this point we’re all going to be disappointed, so I’m not in a hurry to see them.
I’m no RE investor, but I suspect that developers will start with a finish date in mind using calculations about the projected apartment absorption rate in the market. With several hundred other units coming on line downtown in the coming months, plus the ones coming on line in the Village District, I suspect that they are calculating how long it will take get them rented. They are also putting themselves in direct competition with The Creamery project on Glenwood.
I haven’t followed this one very closely but am I understanding this correctly?..they started a project when the plans haven’t even been finalized?
