I need to go back and look but I’m pretty sure the plans have the hotel entrance along West St
I love how it’s filled with people, when in reality there’s like 5 people there tops. #optimism
Hotel lobby seems to be along West St. Also, car drop off for the hotel appears to be on the 2nd floor within the parking deck.
Have there been any rumors on the brand of hotel? Hopefully it’s a high level name like a Westin or something like that. We seem to be missing any sort of upscale “big city” brand downtown.
This is great news. Does anyone know when they expect to break ground?
Welcome!
I believe it is slated to break ground by next year with a 2025 completion.
Since there is federal funding involved that should be a pretty firm timeline.
Thanks! I am looking forward to watching the progress.
Likewise, and welcome to the forum!
West Street Extension. West Street Extension. West Street Extension. (Hubs and I were riding around RUS the other night, and it just made me ache to see that concrete wall at the bottom of the turnaround.)
Pretty sure that’s in the works now!
In design phase I believe, and I don’t believe it’s funded yet.
Willing to bet the City finds funding and gets this started in conjunction with the RUSBus development. Would only make sense to dig that tunnel and do the major road extension at the same time that street is mostly shut down while RUSBus goes up!
I’m hoping this could be a project that gets bumped up with the Infrastructure package since it will have transit significance.
Selfishly (and for our city) I’d love to see it happen on the same timeframe as RUSBus.
Indeed! It should be a great candidate to get bumped up.
Looks like this Site Review doc was updated in mid-October. More detailed elevations. And did the residential tower get taller? Now says 435’. Also shows the 8-story outline for the hotel signage area.
Looks like the residential tower got 2 more floors-- 29 vs the original 27 but the hotel portion is smaller 15-ish vs the previous 19 stories. I think.
Ahhh overall the residential tower will be 35 floors (maybe you can consider the roof double height so effectively 36?) it’s just that only 27 floors will be actual apartments. Nice.
I’d love an upscale hotel brand here but it’ll probably end up being a Marriott .
Yeah I notice most of the hotels in downtown are owned by a single hotel dev company.
To go with the like 4 Marriotts downtown or about to be? Yeah, getting sick of that myself
