Miami has these all over the place.
Miami is obviously trying to be like Greensboro
If the small city of Burlington, VT could pedestrianize their Main Street, why can’t Raleigh?

We already did that and have since given it back to cars.
Sooooooo, the R-Line?
Yeah R line. A short bus (no offense). No one knew what it was . Lame attempt. Put a sticker on it at least and call it something silly.
Speaking of Greensboro, saw this today on Boom Supersonic. They posted an update of their factory they’re building out at the PTI airport. It’s good to see the Toyota, Boom, Apple, and now VinFast mega projects actually moving forward. I think all are gonna have a huge effect on the state of NC.
Great town. Lived there a long time ago for about a year.
Forgot about Wolfspeed under construction in Siler City. Only 11 miles from Toyota factory. Toyota factory just on the Randolph county line from Chatham. Soon Chatham residents have access to over 10,000 jobs just at VinFast, Toyota, Wolfspeed. Plus whatever suppliers, and obviously the multiple Popeyes that will be constructed. Good times, moving on up.
This is a fun Twitter thread about street design in Mexico City - narrowing intersections, raising crosswalks, adding lush planted medians - making it all safer and more pleasant for pedestrians
That’s really funny. We’re actually leaving for a Northeast trip tomorrow morning, and Toronto is one of our stops. This fountain was definitely on the list. Good timing! LOL
Ah, that’s awesome - Toronto is amazing. Enjoy!
I like that they actually didn’t have any quotes from negative people about “oh no change is terrible, I hate everything new, I’ve lived here for 170 years and my opinion matters more.”
Glowing endorsement (and brilliant copy editing ) from the article :
The growth of the town has people who have been their for decades, Like Ashworth Drugs owner Ralph Ashworth, excited.
“Everybody thinks I don’t like,” Ashworth said. “I’m a positive person, I like all this stuff, I like growth.”
1072 West Peachtree in Atlanta has started construction. 60-stories. Renders don’t make it look good but it’s got height. I wonder that once we get saturated with a couple of sub 40-story towers will a developer eventually seek to break the 40-story ‘cap’.
Yeah… not a fan of these more recent towers that look like a tower on top of a different building on top of a parking deck. They can keep this sh!t
Looks like something I would build with Legos back in the day when I was just trying to make it as tall as possible before it collapsed.
Agreed - the base looks fine/cohesive, but the top tower looks just plunked down and not even connected. Still it will be tall, so there are some that will love it. @Francisco is this going to be residential?
