This would be an incredibly wholesome prank.

Why not decorate the entire tree? sometimes developers will actually light up a tree if itā€™s placed during the holiday season.

Anyone up to briā€¦ Um ask a security guard for a favorā€¦ to let a couple of people go up with a bunch of xmas lights for the tree. Maybe even battery powered.:laughing::laughing:

Black Friday picture. They are not working today so Iā€™m early today. The county is having all of the big overgrown bushes in front of the general services building on Harrington taken down today which will be a huge improvement over there because they do nothing but collect liquor bottles on the weekends.

This week followed by last weekā€¦

Thatā€™s incredible news!!! Can you grab a quick shot of the bush removal and text me? Very exciting! (Itā€™s the simple things sometimes)

As for the seemingly slow progress from last week to this, all of the work on the parking deck has been the Harrington side which has come quite a long way in the last couple of weeks.

So was the plan for all of SH1 & SH2 to be the same height? just looking at itā€¦ looks like all 3 buildings are the same height (not floors obviously), but straight across. Would have loved to have seen the commercial office building at least several floors taller.

The apartments in phase 2 will be significantly shorter than the office tower, which is more or less the same height at phase 1.

Not sure what thread this belongs in so I will post it here.

Does anyone else get a serious case of the heebie jeebies when looking at the Capital Blvd Bridge over Peace? What bothers me is the way the stamped embellishments on the concrete seem to make an ironic postmodern allusion to a central pillar thatā€¦ just isnā€™t there. It makes me feel panicky, like the bridge is about to collapse. The feeling is a sort ofā€¦ é•å’Œę„Ÿ (iwakan - a vague sensation that something isnā€™t right). Kind of akin to tryptophobia.

To me it seems so obvious and the uneasy sensation is so strong, that I almost inescapably conclude that it must be intentional. Now, I appreciate humor as much as the next guy, even if the humor is sometimes at my own expense. But when it comes to things like bridges and safety, I donā€™t really enjoy being messed with like this, especially when the city paid quite a bit of money for these aesthetic ā€œbetterments.ā€

Just speaking personally, but uh, no. The span isnā€™t enough to look wrong to me. Itā€™s a very short bridge, hence no center support necessary. The architectural element there on the side, I donā€™t isolate it when I view it. If it was a longer stretch, or maybe if I had a much larger monitor, but I canā€™t see the middle without seeing the overall size of the bridge.

Donā€™t worry. Some dumbass will decorate the bridge with graffiti soon enough. You wonā€™t notice anything else at that point.

For the record, the tree on top of SmoHo2 does have lights.

Just heard that the new W Johnson extension between Smoky Hollow 1 and 2 will be a private street and therefore can be easily closed for neighborhood street events.

Thatā€™s interesting. For a private street, it sure will be used a lot by the public.

Johnson or Tucker? Tucker ext will be cobblestone and not really a throughway. Seems odd that theyā€™d consider closing Johnson that will be a main exit artery from Capital.
