Thanks for the snaps.
It’s so cringey looking at that wood construction on the 6-story structure.
Especially when compared to the excellent office portion. But muh expenses or something.
Does anyone know if we are getting a planted median continuously down Capital, even on the bridge itself over Peace? If not, that’s a lot of lanes over Peace.
I heard they are putting rail of some sort through the middle that goes up to North Hills then over to Crabtree.
Don’t tease us like that!
Sorry, haha… couldn’t resist! But it would be a great place to do it… it has the space for it. Oh well, one can dream…
Well, that answers a question that we all had.
That view is the corner of Peace and West, the opposite of the strangely shaped 2-story corner we’ve been wondering about.
Edit: this bullet certainly describes the corner we’ve been asking about
Kind of disappointed this is just gonna be office space…
Also while I’m complaining, I like the living wall they’re setting up along the first level outside the parking deck, but why did they not continue the black brick underneath to wrap around the exterior ramp?
BOOOOOOOOORING
With a newborn at home I am trying to complain less. However, I am glad to see others taking the baton from me Having said that, retail would have been better, and maybe even cool in this spot. Super visible (like the office ad says) from all over.
Lol!
Congrats on the newborn!!
Or at least ground level retail and second floor office.
Disappointing. I guess my rumors didn’t stick.
I know we’ve talked about this before, but I drove into downtown earlier today via capital blvd for the first time in a couple months, and the city looks astonishingly dense from that angle! You could see both the raleigh crossing and bloc 83 cranes, and i finally appreciated just how MASSIVE the smokey hollow project is. It was truly impressive and exciting to see
Will this be some sort of water feature on the NE corner? Or is it just a pipe for something else? I don’t see anything to indicate a water feature in the renderings.
Looks more like a catch basin drain pipe than any kind of supply line.
If anything it might just be for plant irrigation lines.
Irrigation supply lines are small, typically 1/2" diameter for residential and not PVC. I’m thinking this is either just a temp. sleeve that protected some sort of mechanical/electrical device during construction, or a drain.
It’s clearly the waterline for the ice skating rink. duh!
