Smoky Hollow Phases 1, 2, and 3

Windows at about 50% installed on the office? :grinning:

I wonder how the leasing is going for that one. WIth Block83 Tower 2 already approaching half booked…
Of course the WuFlu putting a wrench into everyone’s planning.

But will be interesting to see how fast SmoHo2 fills up and sets up execution for the next phase…

Work is coming along well in North Carolina’s largest County in population! Hoping these developments will keep pushing and hopefully Kane will release renderings of Phase 3

Looking at where they are I don’t really see how the Line will be completed this year. The office building maybe but Kane had said both would be completed this year.

I’m really looking forward to seeing the retail line-up of stores that will open at Smoky Hollow.

I wouldn’t underestimate Kane.

I believe some of the apparatus that is going up is arriving. Big heavy pipes related to this have been moving up there all morning. I suspect we will see this on a crane later today.

Looking west at the Tucker “extension” in Smoky Hollow. This gets me really excited to see this project coming closer to finishing.

Big same. I’m expecting a few chains but hoping for a good mix with locally owned/small businesses too.

Given the parcel sizes, and presuming that the rents are going to be high, I actually don’t hold out much hope for any mom 'n pops.
I wouldn’t mind seeing a fast casual eatery or two among the options. Something like Chipotle would totally work there since there’s an office building component. Of course I’d love to see an Apple Store downtown, but I’m not holding my breath for that. Given its proximity to Publix, I can imagine a CVS working there. I just hope that it’s not all high end luxury type stores. A dense urban neighborhood needs daily shopping/eating choices, not just specialty stores and bars.

100% agree on the apple store.

This is going to look so cool once finished - and then imagining a tower in that surface lot to the right with some more ground floor activation, just awesome.
