Is it me or did they spray way too far over for the center road lanes? Leaves no room for street parking on one side of the road.
Also the quality of paint job they’re getting done and the other peace st road updates from the other week seem really low quality. Unless these are temp lines?
These are 99.99% likely temp paint lines. A contractor will come back after everything is finished (although sometimes it takes months) to put thermoplastic traffic striping down.
Also, I think the plan was to eliminate one side of parking, shift the road over and then have the bike lane against the curb it looks like.
I can’t find any proof of this on raleighnc.gov, but it appears to me from the temporary paint that’s been up for a while that the bike lane is going to be against the curb and there will be cars parallel parked between the bike lane and the driving lanes. This is why the center lane looks to be so far to one side, because it’ll be supporting parallel parking and a separated bike lane on the other side (east). Something similar to this:
It blows my mind that the concrete medallions have been missing on the Wade bridge for…3 years? Like, give me a trash can lid, some styrofoam, an exacto knife, and a couple bags of Quickcrete and I’ll get em done tomorrow.
On the western side of the bridge, northern side of Peace there are a bunch of pieces, from what I can see, laying stacked on the ground. So maybe it’s all there and just needs to go up! I’m pessimisticly optimistic!!!
Apologies if this is old news, but I noticed some lights at the top of the N Harrington building for the first time. Is this a new addition? They decided they couldn’t be out lit by Bloc 83?
