…honestly think you’re gonna be totally alone in these thoughts LMAO
I’ll disagree to that statement too. I strive for Raleigh to be more like the Wynwood District in Miami. Every single building in that district is covered in art. It’s awesome and the art alone makes it a huge tourist destination
IDK… Wynwood is a bit garish IMO. The art scene in Raleigh is nowhere near as “out there” as Miami.
Yet I so wish it was. Miami’s art scene is spectacular. I would kill to have something like the Rubell Family Collection in Raleigh. Coolest art gallery space I’ve ever been to: https://rubellmuseum.org/
Oh for sure, we’re far away from being “out there”. We can count how many murals we have downtown on like one set of hands. But I’d love for us to embrace more art and embrace some quirkiness to our city.
The Rubell Family Collection is awesome! I go during ArtBasel in December.
Never judge an artist’s work until it’s complete - old art teacher’s proverb
I mean, it’s pretty colors. Whatever the hell they’re painting, it’s about 100% better looking than a big blank wall of concrete.
If they had planted kudzu, they would be chopping it back by this point.
Well, its better than that “Do Good” mural on Wilmington.
the vine that ate the south. or at least covered it. Guess first Chinese assault on US.
An interesting read on the big, bad kudzu

Anyways, from this angle the mural could be finished already!
