Hobo egg is like toad in the hole - it will eventually break free
If I boycotted all the restaurants with conservative owners, I would miss out on a lot of North Carolinaâs (and, letâs be honest, most of the worldâs) best food. At that price, okay might be good enough to draw me in.
Thereâs a line somewhere between being conservative and naming a menu item after the first grand wizard of the KKK, though. Iâm cool staying on my side of that line.
Yeah. Nah. 100% f@&k that place. You donât name your menu items after Confederate leaders and KKK Grand Wizards unless you, ya know, have some sort of affinity for Confederate leaders and KKK Grand Wizards. I donât care that they changed menu item names because they wanted to clean up their image lmao. The true image stands.
Seems we have defined the line for Sandwhiches and beyondâŚ
Back to Diner_ville, we should expect things like so -
Somehow, the burrito doesnât seem to fit the menu.
Itâs missing a hobo eggâŚ
Not sure how late Pizza times is open, but that model could work well. Create a small space partitioned from the main dining room. Sit down closes at 10, counter service stays open till 1-2am. As sad as I am to say this, make it cashless to calm any security concerns
Oh, in true diner style there is much much more on the menuâŚI was just highlighting the current âhandheldsâ pricing from the Shiny Diner, no hoboâŚ
And all Gucciâs know, that city ham should cost more than the country ham. FRFR
@xdavidj Birdieâs officially confirmed to close at 10pm during the week, 12am on weekends. Iâm firmly in the âwish it stayed open until 2amâ campâŚRaleigh needs more late-night downtown eateries if we truly wish to become an 18-hour city. Give us a waffle house or something, at least⌠Source
⢠Cafe Hours: 7am-5pm
⢠Dining Room Hours: 11am-10pm (midnights on weekends)
Oh, and they officially open on Monday.
We just need a super late kebab shop. Low overhead and delicious. So cost effective to stay open so long.
I think that the late night places need to be a little less âpreciousâ than Birdieâs. What I mean by that is that they need to be prepared to take on a customer base that may be a little drunk. For those old enough, and with a long history in Raleigh, think Ihop on Hillsborough Street. Late night places need to be durable, easy to clean, and they need to serve diner staples and foods that take the edge off of âone too many drinksâ.
LMAO literally one of the first details they themselves released about their own restaurant was that it would be an all-day + late-nite spot. Boy, that (de)escalated quickly.
Where is this? My google search says Chapel Hill. Is that right?
I love the looks for sure, but that 5 dollar biscuit will cost me 10 dollars in gas
Just take the commuter rail and light rail.
Too soon, GucciâŚtoo soon.
Some real but very slow progress on Crunkleton
And the former J Lights place is basically gutted.
Just wanted to point out that the ivy wall around the parking deck entrance actually did work out!
waffle house on beryl and any miami subs that existed raleigh years back
